BIG Transfer News for WVU Baseball

The morning after flipping a top high school recruit, the WVU baseball program won over another big time transfer. Ohio State transfer catcher Matthew Graveline announced his move to West Virginia on Instagram, sparking reaction all across social media.

Graveline will take his talents from the Big Ten to the Big 12 after spending the last three years with the Buckeyes.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 195-pounds, Graveline is junior from Centerville, Ohio. He ranks as the No. 94 player in the transfer portal, according to 64Analytics. Graveline started all 50 games for Ohio State during the 2025 season, leading the team with 53 RBI and tying for the lead in home runs with 10.

Graveline finished the year hitting .282 with 55 hits, 11 doubles and 39 runs scored. In 2024, Graveline hit .281 with 56 hits, 14 doubles, five home runs and 25 RBI while also stealing 13 bases.

Graveline posted a .421 average as a high school senior at Centerville High School in Ohio.
