Clintonville native Justin Jirschele is staying in the big leagues. Jirschele has been named the third base coach for the Chicago White Sox, joining first-year manager Will Venable’s staff.

Jirschele will head into his ninth season in the White Sox system, having also played for the organization. He served as interim third base coach for Chicago from Aug. 10 through the end of the season. Prior to that, he was the manager of Triple-A Charlotte.

Justin’s dad Mike has roots in the same position. Mike was the third base coach for the Royals for many seasons, even helping Kansas City to a World Series win in 2015.

Justin played college baseball at UW-Stevens Point.
