West Virginia adds JUCO muscle up front for 2025

West Virginia has added another key piece to its offensive line with the commitment of junior college lineman Jude Edwards.

A 6-foot-3, 300-pound product of Trinity Valley Community College, Edwards was named a preseason second-team All-American and enters the program as one of the top 20 interior JUCO offensive linemen for the 2025 cycle.

Edwards appeared in nine games as a true freshman in 2024 and earned recognition for his physical style and interior strength. He is expected to enroll this fall and will arrive in Morgantown with three seasons of eligibility remaining. There is also the possibility that he could receive a redshirt year or a medical waiver to regain his JUCO season.

This addition aligns with West Virginia’s continued emphasis on junior college prospects, particularly along the offensive front. Under Rich Rodriguez, the Mountaineers have prioritized building depth in the trenches with experienced and versatile players. Edwards fits that mold and becomes one of several fall camp additions aimed at strengthening the offensive line unit.

On the current depth chart, Edwards projects as a developmental option at guard. He will likely sit behind veterans like Kimo Makane’ole and Josh Aisosa early in the year, but has the potential to climb the rotation quickly if he adjusts to the speed and physicality of Big 12 play.

His ability to play multiple interior positions, combined with his remaining eligibility, makes Edwards a valuable long-term addition for the Mountaineers.

As West Virginia prepares for a physical Big 12 schedule, having a young, aggressive lineman like Edwards in the system could pay off both this season and beyond.
