JUST IN: Titans debutant sustains injury

Following his NRL debut against the Brisbane Broncos, the Gold Coast Titans have announced that rookie Tony Francis has suffered an AC joint injury, a setback for the young player.

Tony Francis suffered an injury in the third minute of his NRL debut against the Brisbane Broncos, playing on until the 19th minute before being substituted out. The Titans have confirmed that he will be out for four to six weeks to recover from the AC joint injury, further depleting the team’s backline.

Despite his limited time on the field, Francis managed to score a try, make two tackle busts, and run 81 meters. Meanwhile, David Fifita, a key back-rower, passed his head injury assessment and will not face a mandatory 11-down stand-down period after being taken off the field in the 75th minute.
