Consensus four-star forward Cam Ward narrowed his recruitment to 10 schools on Sunday, with Virginia making the list. Alongside the Cavaliers, Ward is also considering Michigan State, Marquette, Mississippi State, Alabama, Kansas State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Florida State.

According to a report from On3’s Joe Tipton, Ward has arranged official visits to Kansas State on September 13, Maryland on September 21, Michigan State on September 28, and Alabama on October 12. Although Virginia hosted him for an unofficial visit on June 27, they were not included in his initial set of official visits. Ward has previously taken unofficial visits to Georgetown, Maryland, Notre Dame, Florida State, and Marquette.

Ward is currently the No. 48 overall prospect in the class of 2025, as per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is also ranked as the No. 15 power forward in the nation and the No. 2 player in Maryland.

Standing at 6’7″ and hailing from Largo High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Ward is having an exceptional year. After leading Largo to a state championship and becoming the all-time leading scorer at his school last spring, he has continued to excel on the summer basketball circuit, attracting interest from numerous major conference programs and coaches.

According to UVA basketball recruiting expert Hooz Got Next, Cam Ward is one of the top remaining targets for Virginia in the 2025 recruiting class, alongside Derek Dixon, Nate Ament, Chance Mallory, Mason Blackwood, Isaiah Denis, JJ Mandaquit, Matthew Able, and Jack McCaffery.
