North Carolina Makes Early Move to Land Key Commitment From Brother of Former UNC Star Armando Bacot

The recruitment of King Bacot, the brother of former UNC basketball star Armando Bacot, has already gotten started.

Oh yeah, it’s important to note that he hasn’t even entered high school yet.

Eighth grader King Bacot has announced that he received his first Division I scholarship offer from VCU. Although it’s quite early in the recruiting process for the Class of 2029, many consider Bacot to be the top player in his class.

After missing out on Armando Bacot, VCU is already making an effort to change the narrative this time. Given Armando’s success with the UNC basketball program, it’s understandable that they want to persuade King to stay in his home state for college basketball!

This is likely just the first of many scholarship offers he’ll receive, and many are hopeful that one will come from UNC in the future. Although King’s college basketball journey is still years away, fans dream of seeing another Bacot family member play for the Tar Heels.

The timing of VCU’s offer shows they want to avoid repeating past mistakes. Meanwhile, many in North Carolina hope King Bacot will uphold the family legacy and eventually join the team in Chapel Hill.
