USC Trojans Yet Again Confirmed A Huge Commitment On four-star offensive lineman Tuesday Morning

USC football continued its strong presence on the West Coast with a significant Tuesday commitment from four-star offensive lineman Esun Tafa, a 2026 prospect from Draper, Utah.

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 305 pounds, Tafa is the third player to commit to USC in the last 48 hours, following four-star wide receiver Trent Mosley from Santa Margarita, California, who also committed today. Three-star offensive lineman John Fifita from Mountain View, California, committed on Monday.

With Tafa’s commitment, USC has now secured 14 commitments for its top-ranked recruiting class, marking another success in the Trojans’ push on the West Coast. Tafa also becomes USC’s eighth four-star commitment, which is tied for the top spot nationally.

Washington was the primary competitor, as Tafa had been a strong commitment to the Huskies since his pledge in November of the previous year. However, the USC coaching staff, along with new offensive line coach Zach Hanson, extended an offer to Tafa in late January, leading to Tafa’s decommitment from Washington just a few days later.

Although Washington remained in the running along with Utah, USC gradually gained the upper hand in recent weeks. Tafa and his family made a significant unofficial visit to USC in March, which played a key role in finalizing his commitment.

Huge thanks to @CoachZachHanson, @AaronAmaama, and @uscfb for welcoming my family and me yesterday during a fantastic visit. I’m thankful for the chance to meet everyone, especially Coach @LincolnRiley, and to hear his advice, insights, and vision for the future. #FightOn✌️ #4Popz @NilxGroup pic.twitter.com/kDXZimMIo7 — Esun Tafa (@esuntafa_) March 4, 2025

WHERE ESUN TAFA RANKS AS A RECRUIT

Tafa is ranked as the No. 186 overall prospect, the No. 11 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 4 prospect in Utah according to the 247Sports rankings. In the 247Sports Composite, he is ranked as the No. 254 overall prospect and the No. 17 interior offensive lineman.

HOW ESUN TAFA FITS WITH USC

USC is gaining momentum in their offensive line recruiting with the commitments of Fifita on Monday and now Tafa. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 305 pounds, Tafa has the potential to play offensive tackle in college, where he currently holds down the left tackle position at Corner Canyon High School, but he is expected to play guard for the Trojans.

Tafa’s physicality and athleticism stand out on film, and he shows the ability to reach the second level. His commitment provides USC with two interior offensive line prospects to develop in the 2026 cycle; while Fifita is viewed as a project for the future, Tafa is positioned to contribute sooner.

WHAT WE THINK ABOUT ESUN TAFA

“Tafa is a player we were impressed with at the Under Armour Next Camp in Utah last June, where he narrowly missed out on being named OL MVP. He practiced at right tackle and possesses an ideal frame with a solid 6-4, 295-pound build, but could also move inside to play guard if necessary. With nearly an 80″ wingspan, he displays heavy hands and plays with significant physicality. He features a strong lower body, lateral mobility, and advanced technique. He is already gaining national attention, and we like the trajectory of his game.” – Greg Biggins
