A graphic that incorrectly spelled Oregon as “Ouregon” quickly drew attention on social media, leading to an outpouring of reactions. Many fans found the typo amusing, with some even playfully embracing the new spelling. “It’s not Myegon, it’s not Youregon, it’s Ouregon,” joked one fan. Another exclaimed, “OUREGON? They might as well have just gone with OUREGION since the Ducks own the West Coast and the Midwest.” Others were less amused by the misspelling, especially given that the Ducks are currently ranked No. 2 in the country.
“Maybe learn to spell our name, Fox… OUREGON?” commented one user. While there was some criticism, it was mostly in a playful spirit, especially since the graphic noted that Oregon has achieved its fourth 7-0 start since 2010. The Ducks amassed 421 yards of offense in their victory over Purdue, with Heisman hopeful Dillon Gabriel nearly flawless except for a first-half interception.
He completed 21 out of 25 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns. The Ducks’ defense also shined, achieving its first road shutout since 1992. “I think we demonstrated our potential,” Lanning said following the game. “It’s our first shutout in a long time. This conference is tough, and you need to win on the road.” Lanning and the Ducks will face a ranked opponent next week as they host No. 22 Illinois.
