UNC’s Seth Trimble Makes Final Decision on College Basketball Future
The North Carolina Tar Heels have recently experienced significant losses in the transfer portal, with former top recruits Ian Jackson and Elliot Cadeau leaving the program.
As head coach Hubert Davis and his team work to address the gaps left by these talented players, they are also awaiting decisions from a few other team members. Star guard RJ Davis has completed his NCAA eligibility, but Seth Trimble, an important part of UNC’s backcourt, has chosen to return. After considering his options, Trimble has confirmed his return for his senior season, according to Joe Tipton.

In his junior season at North Carolina, Trimble averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. During UNC’s only appearance in the NCAA Tournament, a first-round defeat against Ole Miss, he contributed nine points and four rebounds. Trimble made significant progress during his senior year, achieving career-highs in all major statistical categories. His decision to return is a significant boost for head coach Hubert Davis and his plans for the 2025 season. As a former top recruit, Trimble is expected to be a key asset in what could be a restructured roster.
