The North Carolina Tar Heels headed to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take on Notre Dame in the second round of the ACC Tournament. They walked away from that game with a 20-point win on a career-high night from forward Jae’Lyn Withers. He finished with 21 points and seven threes, a UNC tournament record in the ACC for most threes in a single game.
Cadeau also finished with 10 assists and Ven-Allen Lubin had a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double. The Tar Heels look unstoppable in a game that was over in the first three minutes of the contest.
After the game, Joe Lunardi took to ESPN and pronounced that UNC moved up the ESPN bracketology to the “first team out” as apart of the “first four out.” The “last team in” according to Lundari at that moment was Ohio State, and he made the statement that things might change if the Buckeyes were to lose.
Well, just that happened. Iowa took care of business in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament, beating Ohio State 77-70. That loss form the Buckeyes moved the needle just enough for Joe Lunardi to make the switch. As of the end of Wednesday, North Carolina is now on the inside of the bubble as the “last team in.”
The latest update from @ESPNLunardi:
North Carolina ➡️ Last team in
Ohio State ➡️ OUT— Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) March 13, 2025
They join Oklahoma, Indiana, and Xavier as the “last four in” as Ohio State drops below Texas with Boise State and Colorado State as the “first four out.” West Virginia, Baylor, Utah State, and San Diego State are the teams with the last byes, in Lunardi’s predictions.
