UConn’s Dan Hurley Sends Strong Message to Liam McNeeley After NBA Draft Decision
Dan Hurley and the UConn stood atop the college basketball landscape for the past two seasons, entering the NCAA Tournament in pursuit of their third straight national title.
While the Huskies had a talented roster, they suffered a loss to the No. 1 Florida Gators in the round of 32.
Following their loss in the NCAA Tournament, Hurley and his staff lost one of their most consistent contributors, star freshman and former five-star prospect Liam McNeeley.
McNeeley declared for the 2025 NBA Draft after just one season with the program, sparking a strong response from Hurley, who had nothing but high praise for the young star.
“Skills will translate seamlessly to today’s NBA and his character is absolutely elite…work ethic…super competitive…great teammate…wants to be coached…desperately wants to win…confident yet humble. Good Luck my man…it was a pleasure coaching you!”
