Two More Preps Appear to Eliminate UNC Basketball From Contention

UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his staff offered scholarships to Cayden and Cameron Boozer over a year ago. During the recruitment of these Columbus High School (Fla.) standouts, the Tar Heels have been serious contenders at times.

However, UNC recruiters have not yet welcomed either Boozer twin—Cayden, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard ranked No. 18 on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, or Cameron, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward ranked No. 2 overall—to campus for a visit, and it appears they likely won’t.

On Wednesday, North Carolina Tar Heels on SI confirmed that the five-star Boozer twins, sons of Duke basketball legend and two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer, have planned three upcoming unofficial visits. They will revisit Durham to check out the Blue Devils this weekend, then head to Florida the following weekend, and finish their visits at Miami starting on Sept. 11.

The expectation is that each Boozer twin will announce their college choice for the early signing period in November.

Several prospects from the 18-player 2025 UNC basketball offer sheet, which has not yet resulted in a commitment, have officially eliminated the Tar Heels. While the Boozer twins have not disclosed their finalists, their scheduled visits suggest that they have narrowed their options down to three schools.
