Transit: Anaheim Ducks Confirms Groundbreaking News Involving 21-years-old Super Talent

The Anaheim Ducks announced today that they have recalled defenseman another super talent from the San Diego Gulls, their primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Hinds, 21, has played 87 AHL games with San Diego, accumulating 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists) and 50 penalty minutes. This season, the 6’3″, 199-pound defenseman has recorded 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) in 16 games with the Gulls, ranking second among the team’s defensemen in goals.

Drafted by Anaheim in the third round (76th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Hinds was recognized as the QMJHL’s Best Defensive Defenseman for the 2022-23 season, compiling 54 points (11 goals, 43 assists) and a +61 rating in 56 games with Sherbrooke. Over his 204 career QMJHL games with Sherbrooke, Rimouski, and Shawinigan, he totaled 116 points (31 goals, 85 assists) and maintained a +104 rating.

The Gatineau, Quebec native was part of the Canadian team that won gold at the 2023 World Junior Championship and also represented Canada at the 2020 U-17 World Hockey Championship.
