Elite offensive line recruits are among the most sought-after talents in college football. That’s why Canon Pickett from Tampa, Florida, is attracting attention from nearly every top program across the nation.
Recently, the 4-star prospect shared his top 10 schools with Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, and Clemson made the cut. However, the Tigers will face significant competition in this recruiting race.
Also included on Pickett’s list are Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, and Auburn. This means Clemson will need to make a strong impression if they hope to secure Pickett’s commitment, Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 288 pounds, Pickett is an interior offensive lineman.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, he is the No. 340 player in the nation for the class of 2026, regardless of position, the No. 25 interior offensive lineman in his class, and the No. 48 player in the talent-rich state of Florida.
Currently, seven of the 19 offensive linemen on Clemson’s football roster are juniors or seniors, meaning they will either graduate or be in their final season of eligibility by the time the 2026 class arrives. Conversely, nine offensive linemen are either true freshmen or redshirt freshmen.
This indicates that the program is in a solid position concerning depth at the offensive line. However, it remains crucial to continue adding talent to that position group.
Offensive linemen are the most challenging players to project in the sport. It is tough to predict which 18-year-old recruit will be able to gain enough quality weight to withstand elite pass rushers while also retaining the mobility required for the position.
Thus, constructing an offensive line is partly a numbers game. The more quality options a program can recruit, the better its chances of having strong offensive line depth in two, three, or four years.
Therefore, it’s essential to keep an eye on Pickett and other offensive line prospects in the 2026 class. This position group is one of the most critical in football, and the Tigers are focused on strengthening it through high school recruits.
