Tony Gibson & The Herd Announces Another Exciting Marshall Update on Tuesday
Ole Miss has entered the competition for one of the country’s rising wide receiver prospects. On Tuesday, the Rebels offered a scholarship to Baron Marshall, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound receiver from Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, who is part of the class of 2028.
Marshall, who is heading into his sophomore year, is already attracting significant attention. His growing list of offers includes SEC schools Auburn, Missouri, and Tennessee, along with BYU, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Miami, Nebraska, and Wisconsin.
As of now, 247Sports has not yet assigned Marshall a rating.
Marshall is a talented two-sport athlete who also shines on the basketball court.
Football is a family tradition for Marshall. He has two brothers with college football experience—Jalen Marshall, a defensive tackle at Missouri, and Dillon Marshall, who played safety for Northern Iowa in 2024.

National analyst Gabe Brooks highlighted Baron Marshall last fall while profiling some of the nation’s top freshmen. He wrote:
“Top247 five-star offensive tackle and Michigan 2025 commit Andrew Babalola has drawn major college attention to Blue Valley Northwest in Overland Park, Kansas. The school is also home to emerging talent Baron Marshall, a freshman wide receiver with a big frame who tallied 17 catches for 238 yards and three touchdowns over BVN’s first six games this season.
In addition to being a standout on the basketball court, Marshall comes from a football family—his older brothers include Missouri defensive lineman Jalen Marshall and former Northern Iowa safety Dillon Marshall. Baron picked up his first offer from Auburn in late August, followed by offers in October from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa State, Miami, BYU, and Missouri.”
