This marks the second transfer portal departure for the Missouri Tigers this week, following junior forward Aidan Shaw’s announcement that he will be transferring to Boston College.

Allen, a 6-foot-7 forward from Miami, Florida, appeared in 26 games for Mizzou this past season, averaging 2.5 points, two rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game. He also led all MU freshmen in average minutes played with 9.2 per game.

Head coach Dennis Gates frequently utilized Allen off the bench to counter opponents’ size and offensive pressure. He also had high praise for the forward, saying, “(He is) … probably the most consistent of all the freshmen.” Allen enters the portal with three years of eligibility remaining.

Out of high school, Allen was ranked No. 74 in the ESPN 100 and posted impressive senior-year averages of 22.7 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. With his departure, the Tigers currently have 11 of their 15 roster spots filled for the upcoming season.

The remaining forwards on the team include graduate Jacob Crews, seniors Mark Mitchell and Jevon Porter (a senior transfer from Loyola Marymount), junior Trent Pierce, and incoming freshman Nicholas Randal.

With four spots still available, the Tigers are expected to target more additions through the portal this offseason. One player high on the Tigers’ list is former Arizona State forward Jayden Quaintance. 247Sports had the 17-year old Raleigh, NC native ranked ninth overall in the 2024 recruiting class.
