The Wolverines and Coach Sherrone Moore Again Announce Another Bryce Underwood Big News

Over the past year, Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore and the Wolverines have completely revamped their recruiting strategy. They’ve made major headlines by flipping five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU and assembling a loaded 2025 recruiting class, which now ranks 8th nationally.
With their star quarterback in place, Michigan is shifting its focus to surrounding him with elite talent — particularly at wide receiver. The Wolverines already have three receiver commitments for the 2026 cycle and are now laying the groundwork for an equally strong 2027 group.
One of the biggest names in the 2027 class is wide receiver Monshun Sales, a consensus five-star prospect. Currently ranked as the No. 2 wideout and No. 13 overall player in the nation, Sales is a towering 6’5″, 200-pound playmaker who thrives on the outside as a true “X” receiver.
Michigan fans will remember big-bodied receivers like Devin Funchess, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Nico Collins dominating with their size and strength on the perimeter — an element that’s been missing from recent teams. A player like Sales could help bring that back in a big way.
As the college football season approaches, Sales has announced his first wave of fall visit plans — with Michigan among the programs on his list. However, the Wolverines will face stiff competition from powerhouse programs like Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, and others. If they want to land Sales, they’ll need to make a compelling pitch throughout the fall.

Monshun Sales is planning a busy fall, with visits scheduled to Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, Indiana, Notre Dame, LSU, Texas A&M, and possibly more. With nearly 40 scholarship offers on the table, he has no shortage of elite programs vying for his commitment.
While it’s still early in the recruiting process and Sales hasn’t revealed a clear favorite, national experts believe that schools like Ohio State, Alabama, and Michigan are firmly in the mix.
So far, Sales has made the most visits to Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio State — no surprise considering he’s from Indianapolis. Although powerhouse programs outside the Midwest will have plenty of time to make their case, early indicators suggest that staying close to home is a real possibility.
For Michigan fans, much hinges on how soon five-star QB Bryce Underwood gets on the field. If Underwood sees meaningful action early, it could boost Michigan’s credibility with top offensive recruits. After last season’s underwhelming offensive performance, the Wolverines need to show they can develop skill-position talent under Sherrone Moore if they want to stay competitive on the recruiting trail.
