The Vikings’ coaching staff is being considered by the Chicago Bears for their next head coach.

The Chicago Bears had one of the most disappointing seasons in 2024 after having playoff aspirations. After drafting quarterback Caleb Williams first overall and getting star receiver Keenan Allen in free agency, Chicago was getting a lot of hype coming into this season. However, sitting at a 4-12 record with one game left to play is now their reality, and the team is now reportedly looking into the Minnesota Vikings for a new potential head coach.

The Bears are expected to take a long look at the Vikings’ defensive coordinator, Brian Flores, for their head coach opening this offseason. Flores, who was a former head coach for the Miami Dolphins, has been able to improve Minnesota’s defense to one of the best in the league after being ranked among the bottom last season.

While Flores has been a great addition to the Vikings, his head coaching record is not the best. He went 24-25 with the Dolphins as their head coach from 2019-2021 and was eventually let go by the team.

Bears Fans Not Happy

After this rumor was released, Bears fans were not happy about their team being interested in Flores and thought that he would not be able to bring success to Chicago. With other head coaching candidates likely becoming available in the offseason, like Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, fans are wondering why Chicago is not looking more into him than Flores.

“Poles finna pass on Johnson to hire his college buddy… I f***ing hate it here,” said one fan reacting to the rumors. General Manager for the Bears, Ryan Poles and Flores both played college football at Boston College, where their playing career overlapped back in 2003.

It seems like fans in Chicago are tired of not getting their way, especially with all of the new talent on the roster. While the Bears seem more interested in Flores now, new candidates for the head coaching job will likely emerge and could intrigue them more.
