The UNC Dealt with another Significant News Following Recent Commitment

The first transfer portal commitment news for UNC basketball has finally emerged, about a week after the portal opened. Unfortunately, it’s not the incoming commitment that Tar Heel fans were hoping for.

As head coach Hubert Davis and his staff actively pursue their own transfer options, one former Tar Heel who entered the portal has already secured a new team.

On Monday evening, On3’s Joe Tipton reported that Elliot Cadeau, who served as the starting point guard for two seasons at UNC, has officially committed to the Michigan Wolverines and head coach Dusty May. The news was seemingly confirmed by Cadeau’s mother, who shared a graphic on social media announcing his new destination.

Cadeau, a former five-star recruit, averaged 9.4 points and 6.2 assists per game during his time with the Tar Heels this season

In the meantime, UNC has shown interest in several available transfers, including former BYU forward Kanon Catchings, who played there for one season.
