Former San Jose State wide receiver TreyShun Hurry entered the transfer portal last month with a clear vision: he was seeking an offensive system that would highlight his talents and a coach who could help him reach his full potential.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 194 pounds, Hurry found what he was looking for at Louisville.

He became one of nine players to join the Cardinals’ roster through the spring transfer portal, committing in late April. Hurry is one of two wide receivers added during this window, along with former N.C. State receiver Dacari Collins.

“Everything about Coach Brohm just felt truly authentic,” Hurry told Cardinal Authority. “He’s not only a great coach but also a really good person. He’s committed to helping me reach my goals, and I’m just as committed to helping him reach his. There was so much that stood out to me.

“I could really see myself thriving in that culture and environment—it was easy to picture a successful future there.”

Louisville returns two experienced receivers, Chris Bell and Caullin Lacy, but during spring practices, Coach Brohm emphasized the need to strengthen the position group.

According to Hurry, that need was a major factor in the coaching staff’s pitch to him.

“The coaches told me they needed someone who could boost production in the receiver group,” Hurry said. “They were looking for a dynamic playmaker to help them compete for an ACC Championship. I see myself as that kind of player—someone who can stretch the field, make big plays, and keep drives alive.”

Originally from Palmdale, California, Hurry also pointed to quarterback Miller Moss as another major draw. Having mutual friends and having followed Moss during his time at USC, Hurry said he was already familiar with the quarterback’s talent.

“We kind of know each other from around,” Hurry said. “It’s definitely exciting to play alongside a quarterback like him. We’re going to push each other, build chemistry, and put up points. I think we can be a really explosive offense.”

Hurry played one season at San Jose State, recording 28 catches for 482 yards and two touchdowns. He began his college career at Weber State, spending two seasons there. After redshirting in 2022, he emerged in 2023 with 29 receptions for 384 yards and one touchdown.

Rated as a three-star transfer by 247Sports with an 89 player rating, Hurry also received interest from schools including Baylor, BYU, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee, USF, and West Virginia.

According to 247Sports, a player rated 89 is considered a strong prospect—one with the potential to be drafted or earn a spot in an NFL camp.

Hurry, a 2022 graduate of Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California, was an unranked recruit who received scholarship offers from Northern Arizona, Eastern Washington, Portland State, and Weber State.
