Mike Griffith Slams Georgia Coach Kirby Smart In A Brief Interview For Inefficiency

The countdown is almost over, and the Georgia Bulldogs are preparing to open their season this Saturday with a home matchup against Marshall in Athens. As they aim to show growth from last year’s team, head coach Kirby Smart says their success this season must be driven by “fire, passion, and energy.”
“If the players are expected to bring the fire, passion, and energy, then I’d like to see Kirby Smart bring that same intensity through his play calling,” said Dawg Nation’s Mike Griffith on Monday during an appearance on 92-9 The Game’s Dukes and Bell. As he previewed Georgia’s preparations for the 2025 season, Griffith emphasized that Smart needs to be held accountable for the Bulldogs’ offensive issues.
“We keep blaming Mike Bobo, and that has to stop,” Griffith added. “We can’t keep acting like Kirby Smart isn’t involved in the game plan or that this isn’t what he wants.”
Now entering his 10th season as Georgia’s head coach, Smart must take responsibility if the offense underperforms, Griffith argued.
“At the end of the day, this is Kirby Smart’s offense,” he said. “He hires coaches to run it the way he envisions it being run.”
