The Crimson Tide’s Receive Another Ryan Williams Big News After SEC Huge Announcement
The Crimson Tide’s stars continue to pile up preseason accolades, with four Alabama players named to the AP Preseason All-American teams. Offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor and wide receiver Ryan Williams were named to the first team while center Parker Brailsford and defensive lineman Tim Keenan III were named to the second team.
Williams needs no introduction. The now 18-year-old took Tuscaloosa by storm last season, leading the Tide with 865 receiving yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. He also accumulated 48 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, being named first team All-SEC and freshman All-SEC in 2024.
Williams has been nominated for several awards this preseason, including the Walter Camp Award, the Maxwell Award, and the Paul Hornung Award. The Walter Camp and Maxwell Awards are presented to the top player in college football each season, while the Hornung Award is presented to the most versatile player in college football.
Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor was also named to the first team. Proctor, a 6-foot-7, 366-pound junior from Iowa, is entering his third season with the Crimson Tide. He was the starter at left tackle during Alabama’s 2023 and 2024 seasons, although he missed two games in 2024 due to a shoulder injury. That same shoulder injury kept him from participating in spring practice with the Tide, but Proctor told us at SEC Media Days that he is 100 percent healthy and practicing for Alabama.
Proctor was named to the Lombardi Award Watch List for the 2025 season, presented annually to the top lineman in college football. He was also named a Sporting News Preseason Second-Team All-American.
On the second team were center Parker Brailsford and defensive lineman Tim Keenan III.
Brailsford returns as Alabama’s starting center from 2024, where he was named a second-team All-American. In the 2025 preseason, he was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List, the Lombardi Award Watch List, the Rimington Award Watch List, and was named a Sporting News Second-Team Preseason All-American.
Tim Keenan III, a redshirt senior, was also named to the second team. Last season, Keenan started 12 games and appeared in 13 for the Crimson Tide a season ago, recording 40 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. He also had two quarterback pressures and one pass breakup to go along with his sixth-highest run defense grade from PFF (90.1) among all interior defenders last season.
Keenan has been named to several award watchlists this season as well, being named to the Lombardi Watch List, the Bednarik Watch List, the Nagurski Watch List, and being named a Sporting News Preseason First-Team All-American.
