Texas & Head coach Steve Sarkisian Yet Again Celebrate A Big News
Texas is gaining traction in recruiting after securing the top class in the nation for the 2025 cycle.
This marks the best recruiting finish for head coach Steve Sarkisian, who is entering his fifth season leading the Longhorns.
The program’s success, highlighted by consecutive College Football Playoff appearances and robust NIL initiatives, has solidified its reputation as one of the best in attracting talent.
As spring practice continues, the focus has shifted to the 2026 recruiting class. Prior to Saturday’s announcement from four-star offensive lineman Nicolas Robertson, Texas had three commitments in place.
The highly regarded prospect and native of Spring, Texas, chose the Longhorns over in-state rivals Texas A&M and Houston.
Robertson, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 330 pounds, plays at Klein High School. He is ranked as the No. 8 interior offensive lineman, the No. 23 player in Texas, and the No. 192 recruit in the nation according to ESPN.
Sarkisian and his staff appear to be focusing heavily on Texas talent, with Robertson being one of three commitments in the 2026 class from the state. In the previous 2025 class, the Longhorns signed 15 in-state players.

Moreover, Robertson’s commitment is likely good news for Texas supporters, as having strong talent on the line of scrimmage is essential in the SEC. This group played a crucial role in the Longhorns’ recent playoff appearances.
Texas will wrap up its spring practice on April 26 with Fan Appreciation Day instead of a conventional spring game. The 2025 season will kick off with a significant matchup against Ohio State on August 30
