Breaking: Former Hamilton Tiger-Cats star signs with New England Patriots

After a successful workout, former Hamilton Tiger-Cat defensive lineman Kobe Jones was signed by the New England Patriots, according to an Aaron Wilson report.

On August 13, the six-foot-three, 255-pound defender was cut from the Ticats’ practice roster. This season, Jones played in six games for Hamilton, recording two defensive stops, one special teams stop, and one sack.

The 26-year-old played in just one regular season game with the Carolina Panthers during his final NFL career in 2022. He was previously a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Green Bay Packers.

The Mississippi State University product, who was born in Starkville, Mississippi, participated in 49 NCAA games and finished with 100 total tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

On Friday, August 23, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-8) take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (4-6), with kickoff scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
