Syracuse Basketball: Orange misses out on another key 2025 4-star recruiting target

London Jemison, a rapidly ascending four-star wing/forward from Connecticut in the 2025 class, has decided to remove Syracuse basketball from his list of options.

The 6-foot-7 Jemison has narrowed his choices down to three schools: Louisville, Alabama, and Kansas, according to reports from top scout Derek Murray and others.

London Jemison, a top-40 prospect in the high school senior class, had previously listed Syracuse basketball among his top six options, which also included Vanderbilt and Virginia. While I’m disappointed that he has removed the Orange from consideration, I wish him all the best.

Scout Derek Murray mentioned on X that Jemison plans to announce his college decision “soon.”

Syracuse basketball is no longer in the running for the 2025 four-star prospect. This spring and summer, Jemison received significant acclaim from national analysts for his performances with the 17U team of Boston’s Expressions Elite in Nike’s EYBL league.

Currently a senior at St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., he received a scholarship offer from Syracuse in late September of last year. He took his first official college visit to the Hill in late December 2023.

Recently, Jemison took official visits to the three schools remaining on his list.

In addition to hosting him for an official visit late last year, the Syracuse basketball staff attended his games during an NCAA live period in late May on the EYBL circuit and other AAU leagues. Since the fall recruiting period began earlier this month, reports from Murray indicate that the Orange staff has observed Jemison at least twice during open gyms at his high school.

Over the weekend, 2025 four-star guard Acaden Lewis, a top-30 national prospect from Washington, D.C., announced his top four schools: UConn, Kentucky, Duke, and North Carolina. The 6-foot-3 Lewis had previously included Syracuse in his top eight and visited the program unofficially on August 1.

Derek Dixon, a 2025 four-star guard and top-50 prospect from D.C., has Syracuse among his top six and plans to announce his college decision on September 27. Analysts I’ve spoken with recently don’t expect Syracuse to secure Dixon’s commitment.

In late May, Syracuse received a verbal commitment from Sadiq White Jr., a five-star forward and top-15 overall player from Charlotte, N.C.

The Syracuse coaching staff continues to pursue several other 2025 four-star prospects, including shooting guard Kiyan Anthony from New York City, point guards Tyler Jackson from Baltimore and Keyshuan Tillery from Albany, NY, wing/forward Shon Abaev from Florida, wing Ryder Frost from Massachusetts, and big man Asher Elson from New York City.
