Steve Casula shares what his offense might look like as the Michigan interim OC in ReliaQuest Bowl

After one year as offensive coordinator, Sherrone Moore decided to fire Kirk Campbell after Michigan’s thrilling 13-10 victory over Ohio State. Michigan found it difficult to move the ball through the air, and the Wolverines had one of the worst scoring offenses in college football. Chip Lindsey, the offensive coordinator for North Carolina, was hired by the Wolverines for the same position, but he will not be calling plays in the ReiiaQuest Bowl.

Moore instead appointed Steve Casula, the tight end coach, as the offensive coordinator in the interim. Casula will call plays against Alabama. Casula met with reporters on Friday and took questions. His offensive strategy as the playcaller against the Crimson Tide is one of them.If you’re hoping to see something new,

Casula remarked, “Well, Michigan’s offense is Michigan’s offense,” Regarding our roster, the play caller, and our program’s current state, you know. The fundamentals of the offense haven’t changed in a long time. However, every game, roster, and group of guys that are available and scheduled sort of dictate how you play. We’re also very focused.

“The main goal of Coach Moore’s first meeting with the team was to improve our football skills because we were preparing for this game. So, we’ve been concentrating on that and kind of getting bogged down in the details. However, such as preparing for a particular defense, using a particular set of a specific defense, getting ready with a specific set of, you know, skill players and offense alignment, all that kind of stuff definitely dictates and determines kind of who you are and what you do.

However, Lindsey will formally take over as Michigan’s offensive coordinator when the clock strikes zero. According to Casula, Lindsey is a wonderful man who will be adored by the media and fans.

Regarding Lindsey, Casula remarked, “He’s awesome,” “He’s a wonderful man. He exudes a wonderful spirit. Very similar to that leader-servant vibe. He’s really flattering. As a high school coach, he has undoubtedly dealt with the youngest of youths. He has also been excellent when it comes to football in its most basic form. You’re going to like him as you all get to know him, as well as the media and Michigan’s supporters. An excellent man. He’s been excellent. He has also been very helpful.
