Is it possible for the St. Louis Blues to snag a free agent from the Vancouver Canucks?
Tyler Myers
Tyler Myers, 34, has the potential to be a major contributor to the St. Louis Blues, a squad led by Robert Thomas. Myers scored 29 points in 77 games during his stellar 2023–24 season.
Having spent four and a half seasons as a player for the Winnipeg Jets, Myers is no stranger to the Central Division. Considering Myers’ age and NHL career stage, St. Louis might make a compelling move by extending a friendly contract to him.
His play this season has led to his finest showing since he scored 31 points in his final season with the Jets in 2018–2019. Armstrong might give the Blues another potent weapon in their armory if he could sign Myers to replace Marco Scandella.
Nikita Zadorov
An intriguing pending free agent is Nikita Zadorov. At 6’6″, Zadorov weighs 248 pounds. Any squad would find him to be a steal if his size determined his destiny. He still has a lot of unrealized potential despite his inconsistent play. This season, he played for the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames, totaling 20 points.
He played for the Flames and ended the 2022–23 season with 21 points. A bit of a journeyman, Zadorov was formerly a player for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Colorado Avalanche, two teams dominating the Central Division. This is an intriguing perspective, since Zadorov may even want to go back to the Central Division, in addition to his familiarity with it. After being chosen with the 16th overall choice in the 2013 draft, Zadorov was named to the All-Rookie team.
His recent seasons of health are evidence of his dependability. The St. Louis Blues need to improve their physicality and size, especially on defense, as they are critical deficiencies. Zadorov might make a fantastic addition. The Vancouver Canucks, who have improved greatly this season, should be given serious consideration as potential free agency targets.
