Special Report: Washington Huskies land 4-star highly-rated interior offensive lineman, as head coach Jedd Fisch announces

Valley Christian’s highly-rated interior offensive lineman, Champ Taulealea, announced his commitment to the University of Washington on Thursday morning. He selected the Huskies over other notable programs like USC, UCLA, and Oregon.

Ranked as the 260th overall prospect and the 18th best interior offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class by the On3 Industry Ranking, Taulealea is also positioned as the 27th top player in California.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 350 pounds, he made his official visit to Seattle in early May. With his commitment, he now holds the title of the highest-ranked recruit in the Huskies’ 2025 recruiting class, which is currently ranked 30th in the nation by the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Joining Taulealea in the recruiting class is four-star wide receiver Raiden Vines-Bright from Tempe (Ariz.) IMG Academy. Vines-Bright, a top-300 recruit and one of the top 40 wide receivers nationally, committed to Washington on April 15, under the leadership of head coach Jedd Fisch.

Taulealea expressed his admiration for Coach Fisch and the coaching staff at Washington, highlighting the familial atmosphere that he felt during his visit. He mentioned his comfort with the coaching staff, emphasizing that it felt like home to him.

The Huskies’ recruiting class, led by Fisch, now comprises a total of seven commitments. Among them are quarterbacks Dash Beierly from Temecula (Calif.) Mater Dei and Treston McMillan from Mililani (Hawaii). The rest of the class features California prospects: interior offensive lineman Jake Flores from San Juan Capistrano J Serra Catholic, running back Julian McMahan from Danville Monta Vista, and EDGE player Devin Hyde from Menlo Park Atherton.
