South Dakota head coach Brett Barnett is pleased to announce the addition of another super talent to roster for the 2025 spring semester.
A native of Chapeco, Santa Catarina, Brazil, comes to South Dakota having been the top ranked player in the state of Santa Catarina for the U18 division.
“I am very excited that Natalia has signed and will be joining the team in January,” said Barnett. “It was clear from the start when we spoke that she is a hard-working player that loves to be on court and likes to compete.
“It was evident in getting to know her that she is a nice person and will be a great teammate who looks to improve while making her teammates better each day.”
Natalia is a five-time Santa Catarina U18 champion, won two South Brazalian U18 championships and was the youngest tennis player from Santa Catarina to score in the WTA.
“She has had some very nice results back home and is ready to make an impact in the lineup upon arrival and help this team reach their goals,” added Barnett. “She has well rounded game, ability to play heavy from the back and add pace from both sides to finish points.
“It will be great to get Natalia on campus and start working with her to continue to develop her game.”
