On May 31, in the Wynn Macau Grand Ballroom, rising talent Si Jia Hui, a semifinalist in the 2023 World Championship, will play against seven-time World Snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan.

The one-off match comes after Wynn Palace hosted the 2023 Macau Snooker Masters the previous year. According to Wynn, there will be a live band, a special dinner, and a raffle for snooker balls, cue sticks, and jackets that have been signed.

The game is a component of Wynn’s support for the local government’s tourist diversification strategy, which intends to draw additional major athletic events to Macao, according to a press release from the casino operator.

Ronnie O’Sullivan lost to Marco Fu of Hong Kong in the quarterfinals of the Snooker Masters during his visit to Macao last year.

The World Snooker Tour (WST) has chastised O’Sullivan for taking part in high-paying off-tour events. These include of exhibition matches as well as the Macau Snooker Masters and Hong Kong Masters, which O’Sullivan won the previous year.

In disapproval of the WST’s regulations, the player has threatened to withdraw.
