After three weeks, the Ohio State football team boasts a perfect 3-0 record and is ranked #3 in the nation. Overall, the Buckeyes have performed well, but their defense revealed some vulnerabilities during Saturday’s game against Marshall.
Despite winning decisively, Ohio State allowed the Thundering Herd to move the ball more effectively than anticipated, leaving head coach Ryan Day dissatisfied with the team’s performance.
Ohio State has one of the most talented rosters in college football, a fact that is not up for debate. However, their victories have come against weaker opponents—Akron, Western Michigan, and Marshall—raising questions about how they will fare against stronger teams. Ryan Day remains unconvinced about his team’s performance so far.
“I don’t feel good about anything,” Day stated, as reported by Dave Holmes. “Nobody should feel good about anything.”
The Ohio State defense needs to improve. Day’s concerns regarding Saturday’s performance were focused on the defense. While the offense has performed well against weaker opponents, the defense is expected to be among the best in the nation. Games like the one against Marshall should not happen.
“You did your job or you didn’t,” Ryan Day stated, as reported by Clay Hall. “You graded a champion or you didn’t…I don’t feel good about anything right now.”
