Ryan Day Strikes Back at Sherrone Moore as Ohio State Becomes High School Athletes’ Top Choice

Despite not being able to clinch victory against Michigan on the field, Ohio State’s ability to attract top talent under Ryan Day’s leadership remains impressive. While the Buckeyes may have experienced a setback in the rivalry game, they continue to excel in recruiting, with numerous high school athletes eager to join the program’s storied legacy. In the world of college football, there are victories and defeats, but Ohio State remains committed to attracting the best players and maintaining its competitive edge.

When everyone thought that Ryan Day would not be able to make the most out of the recruiting class following their mishap against Michigan, he proved what he is capable of. With the early signing period taking place, the Ohio State Buckeyes have gained a total of 25 recruits signing the letter of intent, of which five-star recruits are 2 and four-star recruits are 18, ending with a total of 5 three-star players on the team.

Now, let’s discuss the Michigan Wolverines’ roster following the first signing day. Sherrone Moore and the team have celebrated their biggest achievement of the season by securing Bryce Underwood. In addition to him, they received 21 letters of intent from other players, which includes two five-star recruits, 12 four-star recruits, and seven three-star recruits. Despite Ryan Day experiencing four consecutive losses to Michigan, he managed to avoid further embarrassment. However, it seems that Coach Day hasn’t entirely regained control over the situation.

It’s not all sunshine for Ryan Day’s team

While Ohio State has been excelling in recruiting, their loss to Michigan didn’t deter high school players from expressing their interest. Nonetheless, not everything is smooth sailing for Ryan Day. As the saying goes, with gain comes loss, and this early signing day was no exception for the Buckeyes, who lost some key prospects unexpectedly. Notably, they lost Nae’em Offord, a standout defensive lineman and cornerback, to the Oregon Ducks. He’s ranked as the fourth overall recruit for 2025 and is the top cornerback from Alabama’s class.

Losing Offord has dropped Ohio State to fifth in the recruiting class rankings. Nevertheless, their roster remains packed with talent. For now, Coach Day’s primary focus is guiding the team through the playoffs. Looking ahead to next year, their position seems stable, as securing 25 signings during a challenging time is quite an accomplishment.
