Rutgers Scarlet Head Coach ‘Steve Pikiell’ Convey Another Exciting News Of A Talented Forward
Rutgers has secured its first transfer of the offseason with the addition of George Washington forward Darren Buchanan. Rutgers managed to outperform Mississippi State in the competition to sign Buchanan, despite interest from several other schools. Buchanan shared with Scarlet Nation his reasons for choosing Rutgers.
“I chose Rutgers because of the relationship I have with the coaches, which goes back to my high school days. They have consistently shown me genuine support and love since then,” Buchanan said. “They believe I can make an immediate impact on winning.
The 6-foot-7 Buchanan visited Rutgers officially during his high school recruitment and had already built a rapport with the coaching staff.
“My impression of the staff is that they are honest and straightforward people. I really like the staff; they are all good guys, including Coach TJ [Thompson] and Coach [Steve] Pikell,” Buchanan shared with Scarlet Nation. “They’re all great individuals, and I enjoyed talking to them and getting to know them.
