Reports: Mariners make Another deals with Randy Arozarena, George Kirby

The Seattle Mariners reached one-year contracts with outfielder Randy Arozarena and right-handed starter George Kirby on Thursday, avoiding arbitration, according to multiple reports.

Arozarena, acquired from Tampa Bay at the 2024 trade deadline, will earn $15.65 million in 2026, his final year of arbitration. The 30-year-old batted .238 with a career-high 27 home runs, 76 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases over 160 games. He earned his second All-Star selection before hitting .188 with one homer in 12 postseason games as Seattle fell just short of the World Series. Over his career, Arozarena has compiled a .250 average with 118 homers, 390 RBIs, and 131 stolen bases in 801 games with the Cardinals (2019), Rays (2020–2024), and Mariners, and he is set to reach free agency after the season.

Kirby signed for $6.55 million, keeping the 27-year-old near the top of Seattle’s rotation. Despite a shoulder issue last year, he went 10–8 with a 4.21 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 137 strikeouts over 126 innings in 23 starts. Kirby has started 112 career games—all with Seattle—posting a 45–34 record, 3.58 ERA, 1.112 WHIP, and 621 strikeouts in 637 2/3 innings. An All-Star in 2023, he remains under team control through 2028.
