Vikings focusing on a single quarterback to fill Kirk Cousins’ spot
The Minnesota Vikings are now looking for a quarterback and are interested in a short-term option for 2024. It is reported that they are considering going after Sam Darnold following Kirk Cousins’ exit.
However, they may face competition for Darnold’s services as he is said to be sought after by other teams as well, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
So what now? Look for the Vikings to go after Sam Darnold, who also has other suitors.

Darnold served as the backup to Brock Purdy with the San Francisco 49ers last season. While he may not be a popular choice among Vikings fans, they require more competition at the quarterback position with only Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens currently on the roster. Despite the confidence shown in him by the 49ers as a backup, Darnold has struggled to consistently win in his previous starting roles with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers.
Following Kirk Cousins’ departure, the Vikings have the task of finding a new starting quarterback. They could explore drafting a quarterback, but holding the No. 11 overall pick, they may need to trade up to secure one of the top prospects.
