LSU freshman running back JT Lindsey was suspended from the team until a charge against him gets resolved, his attorney told The Advocate on Saturday.

Lindsey faces 1 count of accessory after the fact to 2nd-degree murder after being accused of providing housing to 2 suspects in a killing in the Alexandria, La., area starting late last month. He was accused by authorities of providing housing to the suspects inside his dorm. Lindsey was arrested on Friday after turning himself in to authorities after LSU Police had issued a warrant for his arrest.

His attorney, Kris Perret, said that Lindsey didn’t know the 2 suspects — both teenagers — were wanted for murder, or any other crime for that matter. Perret said that Lindsey wouldn’t have allowed the 2 suspects to stay with him if he knew that they were wanted for a crime before they were arrested on Monday.

The LSU player has not been accused of taking part in the alleged crime. But he was seen entering and exiting his dorm room multiple times with the 2 suspects, according to an affidavit. The 2 suspects are 17-year-old Shemell Jacobs and 18-year-old Keldrick Jordan. Both teenagers have been wanted by the Alexandria Police Department since May for the shooting death of 17-year-old Corey Brooks.

Jacobs and Jordan were arrested at LSU’s Nicholson Gateway Apartments on Monday, and US Marshals found that Jacobs had Lindsey’s ID.
