According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, the Commanders are seeking to appoint Lions executive Brandon Sosna to a front-office position of significant responsibility.
EXCLUSIVE: USC AD Mike Bohn comments on chief of staff Brandon Sosna departing for the Detroit Lions
According to Garafolo, the Eagles vice president of football administration Jake Rosenberg was one of the few applicants that the organization interviewed. In order to take advantage of other chances both inside and outside the NFL, Rosenberg let his contract expire.

It’s unclear what Sosna’s position with the Commanders is.

The previous two years, Sosna, 31, served as Detroit’s senior director of football administration. As the team’s lead contract negotiator, he is in charge of strategic planning and wage cap management.

He was employed by the Lions after serving as the Trojans’ head of staff for three years at USC.

Before being promoted to a salary cap and contract analyst in 2018, Sosna worked as an intern in football administration for the Browns when he first joined the NFL in 2017–18. He worked at the University of Cincinnati for two terms as well.
