On July 20, the Turkish media revealed on their website that Giovanni van Bronckhorst has given the club’s hierarchy a glowing report on the 32-year-old and wants to get back together with his former Gers defender.

The Light Blues star is the target of Besiktas’ technical team, who are evaluating his worth and potential bid amount. Besiktas needs a new right-back.

Rivals in the Turkish Super Liga, Trabzonspor, have already made a bid for Tavernier and are expected to return with an enhanced offer [Daily Record, July 19]. Personal terms have already been agreed upon [Takvim, July 19].

Ready to move on from Rangers captain Philippe Clement and Trabzonspor have been at odds over a €1 million valuation discrepancy for the right-back (£843,000), according to a report published on July 18 by Sports Digitale journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu.

It should therefore help raise the value of a transaction to a level that the Light Blues hierarchy deems acceptable if Besiktas are now expected to enter the race.

However, there’s still a chance it might go higher because English teams are rumored to be interested in acquiring the record-breaking defender [Scottish Sun, 19 July].

Rangers probably won’t fully understand what the Englishman has given until it’s gone, but since it looks like the decision has been made to end his stay at Ibrox, it would be better to close a deal as soon as possible.

The transfer business of Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen has been hindered by their desire to acquire big names before making additional acquisitions.

Therefore, it would be best to have a quick auction to sell the captain for a fair price, especially if it leads to other deals for players like Connor Goldson and Cyriel Dessers.

Kris Boyd worries that Rangers manager Philippe Clement may soon step down.

The Belgian manager is currently revamping Ibrox in an effort to raise standards following their disappointing two seasons. However, he hinted that things might have changed for him recently. When asked about the team’s potential in the transfer market, he responded, “I had other expectations when I came in in October, I have to say.”

The Gers have added a lot of young players who appear to have promise but have not yet shown their mettle this summer. With the new season just a week away, the manager also acknowledged that he had to send some players out before adding anyone else, which could entail waiting for proven talent.

After hearing the manager’s remarks, former Light Blues manager Boyd is afraid that someone who is prepared to walk away could show up.

He said, “Philippe Clement looks to me like a man on the brink,” in an interview with the Scottish Sun. like someone who might easily decide to leave the Rangers at any moment.

“I detest expressing that. And I really hope I’m not. However, that’s what I understood from his remarks regarding the task that he is now being expected to perform. the inability to rebuild the team with the money that would otherwise need to be sold. He didn’t sign up for this, was he?
