The Las Vegas Raiders seem to have struck gold with rookie tight end Brock Bowers, and NFL legends like Rob Gronkowski and Davante Adams are already taking notice.
On September 17, Gronkowski and Adams appeared together on the “Up & Adams Show” with Kay Adams, where they discussed Bowers, who plays alongside Adams on the Raiders.
“Davante Adams praised Bowers, stating, ‘He literally only cares about football. He shows promise of resembling this guy [Gronkowski] that we see on the screen right now. This young player is on a different level for a rookie, and I think the Baltimore Ravens got a taste of that.’
Bowers has made quite an impression early in his NFL career, catching nine passes for 98 yards in a recent game against the Ravens. With 15 receptions and 156 yards in just two games, he has set a record for the most catches by a rookie tight end in their first two games since the NFL merger.
Gronkowski echoed Adams’ sentiments, expressing admiration for Bowers’ skills and potential. “I was a big fan of Brock when he played at Georgia,” Gronkowski said. “Heโs a winner and a playmaker whenever the ball comes his way. His explosiveness after the catch is remarkable. I believe heโs on track to surpass my achievements as a pass-catching tight end.”
Bowers’ early success is no surprise given his impressive college career at Georgia, where he won two national championships and was recognized as one of the best tight ends in college football. As he continues to develop alongside veteran players like Adams, expectations are high for his future in the league.
