Raiders GM planning roster move after defensive end injuries

The Las Vegas Raiders are entering a new era after parting ways with Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler. New GM Tom Telesco is focused on making changes to better support the team, but the injury to defensive end Kyree Wilson poses an additional challenge.

Wilson left the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday due to a knee injury and could not return. He joins a list of injured defensive players, including Malcolm Koonce. Despite this setback, Telesco has a strategy in place to fill the defensive gap.

According to Antonio Pierce, as reported by Vincent Bonsignore of Vegas Nation, Telesco is looking to address the defensive end position.

Wilson’s injury was a knee sprain, but reports from Ian Rapoport indicate that it is not expected to be long-term, and his knee is structurally sound. This is reassuring, but the team still needs to bolster their depth during the absences of both Wilson and Koonce.

Although the Raiders put up a strong fight on Sunday, JK Dobbins and the Chargers ultimately prevailed, with Dobbins rushing for 135 yards and one touchdown on just 10 carries, causing significant issues for the Raiders’ defense alongside Justin Herbert.
