Breaking news: Jaguars sign TE to active roster among Week 4 roster moves

While the Jacksonville Jaguars’ announcement of starting linebacker Foyesade Oluokun being placed on injured reserve garnered significant attention in their Saturday news release ahead of the Sunday game against the Texans, it was just one of five roster changes made as they gear up for their first AFC South clash of the season.

In addition to Oluokun’s injury, the Jaguars signed practice squad tight end Josiah Deguara to the active roster, elevated cornerback Christian Braswell and linebacker Tanner Muse from the practice squad, and downgraded starting safety Darnell Savage Jr. from questionable to out for Week 4 due to a quadriceps issue.

Deguara, who was brought up to the active roster in Week 3, will provide depth at tight end as starter Evan Engram is expected to miss his third game. He fills the roster spot left by Oluokun. In his last game against the Bills, Deguara made one reception for eight yards, bringing his career totals to 48 catches for 444 yards and two touchdowns, primarily accrued during his four seasons with the Packers.

Braswell will be active for the third straight game as Savage continues his recovery from a practice injury sustained in Week 2. Drafted in the sixth round by Jacksonville in 2023, Braswell has recorded five tackles this season after not registering any statistics as a rookie.

Muse’s promotion coincides with Oluokun’s placement on injured reserve and fellow linebacker Devin Lloyd being listed as questionable due to knee soreness. Muse has tallied 22 tackles since being selected in the third round by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, playing across 23 games with one start for Seattle and Los Angeles, along with time spent with Pittsburgh.
