Texas A&M got some rough news on Monday. Two weeks into the 2025 college baseball season, the Aggies have reportedly lost a key piece for the rest of the year.
TexAgs’ Ryan Brauninger reports that Gavin Grahovac is set to have shoulder surgery and will be out for the remainder of the season.
Grahovac is in his second season, coming off a standout campaign that earned him the title of 2024 SEC Freshman of the Year. Last year, he helped Texas A&M reach the College World Series Finals as a 67-game starter. He slashed .298/.390/.596 while recording 23 home runs, a Texas A&M freshman record, and 66 RBIs.
One of those 23 homers was the first-ever leadoff home run in the first game of a CWS Final. In addition to his SEC honor, Grahovac was also named a Freshman All-American by D1Baseball, Perfect Game, Baseball America and the NCBWA. He made the 2024 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
News: Texas A&M third baseman Gavin Grahovac will have surgery to repair his left shoulder and miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
Grahovac had been fighting through it the first 2 weeks, but it got to a point that was untenable.
