Texas Tech Soccer Defeats Kansas State
On Thursday night, the Texas Tech soccer team secured a 2-1 road victory over Kansas State, thanks to goals from Peyton Annen and Kaitlyn Giametta. This win improves Tech’s record to 8-2-1 for the season and 3-0-1 in Big 12 conference play.

The game remained scoreless until the 25th minute, when Annen scored after a deflected corner kick. However, KSU equalized just 14 minutes later. Thankfully, Giametta responded quickly, scoring just 57 seconds after the tie, securing her fourth goal of the year and the game-winning goal.

 

Tech Remains Unbeaten in 21 Consecutive Big 12 Games
The Red Raiders are now unbeaten in 21 straight Big 12 games. They will return to the field on Sunday afternoon in Houston, where they will face the University of Houston Cougars.

Texas Tech Basketball Loses Recruiting Battle to In-State Program

On Wednesday, Jaden Toombs chose SMU over Texas Tech in a significant recruiting competition for both schools. The Red Raiders had pursued Toombs for at least two years, making this loss particularly disappointing.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Toombs is ranked by 247Sports.com’s composite rankings as the No. 44 overall player and No. 6 center in the nation. He has also received offers from prominent programs, including Alabama, Miami, Creighton, Vanderbilt, LSU, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech Lady Raiders basketball team announces 2024-25 Big 12 slate

Thursday, the Texas Tech lady Raiders released their 12 schedule. It includes 18 games with nine at home and nine on the road. What’s more, the Lady Raiders will face five Big 12 opponents for the first time.

Big 12 play begins on Sunday, December 22 with a home game against Houston. The regular season then concludes on Saturday, March 1with a home game against Colorado.

The Lady Raiders will be looking to improve on last year’s Big 12 record, which was just 5-13 overall. That included a mark of just 4-5 in conference home games.

Texas Tech Women’s Golf Wins Red Raider Invitational

On Wednesday, the Texas Tech women’s golf team successfully defended its home course by claiming the Red Raider Invitational team title. Tech finished the 54-hole tournament with an impressive 8-under-par 856, securing the top position out of 16 teams.

Klara Hurtova led the team by firing a 5-under 67 in the final round, matching her best single round in her career. She finished second in the individual competition, just one stroke behind Kent State’s Veronika Kedronová.

The Red Raiders will next tee off on October 7-8 at the Women’s Invitational at Medinah, hosted by Illinois.

Texas Tech Basketball Adds Transfer Forward from Air Force

This week, it was announced that the Texas Tech basketball program has added Corbin Green, a transfer forward from Air Force, to its roster. He enrolled at Tech in September after two years with the Falcons and is now officially part of the Red Raider roster.

In his college career, Green has averaged 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

As a freshman, the native of Midlothian, Texas, made 12 starts and played in 24 games for the Falcons, averaging 6.5 points and finishing with 34 blocks, ranking fourth in the Mountain West Conference. However, during his sophomore year, he averaged only 2.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in the 12 games he played.
