Boston Bruins Head Coach Gives Primary Reason for Preseason Loss to Kings

It sounds like the Bruins had a tough night against the Kings. Coach Jim Montgomery likely emphasized the importance of better offensive production from the veterans. Lack of shots on goal from key players can seriously affect the game outcome, especially heading into the season opener. Hopefully, they can regroup and find their rhythm before facing the Panthers.

“I thought in the first we were asleep. We weren’t moving our legs. … It wasn’t a very good game by us in that sense,” Montgomery said. “We’re looking at how we’re progressing, not just this game, but throughout camp.” Montgomery, entering his third season at the Bruins’ helm also acknowledged an anticipation for countable games. “I do think a lot of guys are looking forward to Tuesday. For a lot of guys this was their last exhibition game,” he said. “It’s more about timing for veterans. For guys trying to make the team, it’s more about impressing.”

It sounds like the Bruins have some work to do before the season starts!  With a slow offensive start and a few key players missing, they’ll need to find their groove quickly. Hopefully, Pastrnak can step up as the offensive leader.

It’s great to hear that Max Jones is in the mix for a bottom-six spot; every bit of depth helps, especially as they prepare for a tough opener against the Panthers.

Also, honoring Patrice Bergeron is a nice touch! His legacy will surely inspire the team. Let’s see if they can shake off this loss and come out strong
