Purdue football season ticket sales best since 2008

How are the season ticket sales progressing for Purdue as Ryan Walters begins his second season as head football coach?

“It’s going incredibly well,” stated Ken Halpin, Purdue’s Deputy Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer.

Just how well?

Purdue is on the verge of reaching its limit for season ticket sales, with numbers expected to range between 42,000 to 43,000. The last time Purdue achieved season ticket sales exceeding 40,000 was in 2008, during Joe Tiller’s final season as head coach.

“We anticipate selling out over half of our games,” Halpin remarked. “Our goal is to sell out all of them.”

Purdue’s three newer premium seating sections – Junction Terrace, The Railyard, and The Station – are also showing strong sales trends and are on track to be sold out.

Even the students are showing great interest, as they purchased nearly 10,000 Boarding Passes – all within an hour or so.

Single-game tickets will be available to the public starting on July 18.

The 2024 home schedule for the Boilermakers promises to be competitive, featuring highly anticipated games against Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oregon, and Penn State.

“We are looking forward to an exceptional season,” Halpin expressed. “It’s going to be challenging, but it’s also going to be special.”

Home Schedule Notes:

Purdue vs. FCS Indiana State:

– Purdue has a perfect 6-0 record against FCS Indiana State, all games taking place at Ross-Ade Stadium. In the most recent encounter in Week Two of the 2022 season, Purdue secured a resounding 56-0 victory.

Notre Dame at Ross-Ade Stadium:

– Notre Dame will make its first visit to Ross-Ade Stadium since 2013. The two in-state rivals had a yearly match from 1946 to 2014. Their last encounter in 2021 in South Bend resulted in a 27-13 victory for Notre Dame.

Nebraska’s Visit for the Big Ten Opener:

– This upcoming game marks the 12th consecutive season of play between Nebraska and Purdue. Nebraska holds a 6-5 record in the last 11 meetings. Since 2013, Purdue has a 3-3 record against Nebraska at Ross-Ade Stadium. In 2023, Nebraska claimed a 31-14 victory in Lincoln.

Oregon’s First Season in the Big Ten:

– It is anticipated that Oregon will be ranked in the AP preseason Top 5 in its inaugural season as a member of the Big Ten. Oregon has visited West Lafayette twice, winning in 2008 (32-26 in OT) and losing in 1979 (13-7). The most recent meeting resulted in a 38-36 triumph for Oregon in Eugene in 2009.

Purdue vs. Northwestern:

– This marks the 11th consecutive season of competition between Purdue and Northwestern. Northwestern holds an 8-3 advantage in this period, with Purdue having a 2-6 record against Northwestern in their last eight home encounters. In the previous meeting in Evanston, Purdue suffered a 23-15 loss with quarterback Hudson Card sidelined due to injury.

Purdue vs. Penn State:

– Since joining the Big Ten in 1993, Penn State boasts a 16-2 record against Purdue, winning the last 10 matchups. The most recent meeting took place in Ross-Ade Stadium to commence the 2022 season, resulting in a 35-31 triumph for Penn State on a Thursday night. Purdue’s last victory over Penn State in West Lafayette dates back to 2003.
