Purdue football is actively pursuing standout wide receiver JonAnthony Hall, engaging in a competitive recruitment battle with Notre dame and Indiana. Hall’s recent visit and interactions with Deuce Knight are raising the hopes of the Irish team.
While much attention has centered on Notre Dame’s efforts to retain Deuce Knight, the coaching staff, led by Marcus Freeman, is also working on attracting other promising prospects. Among these prospects, the Irish are targeting several top receivers nationwide. One player of interest, JonAnthony Hall, could find himself close to home if he opts to join the Notre Dame program.
JonAnthony Hall represents a newer pursuit for Notre Dame football, which could explain why they are currently perceived as trailing behind in-state rivals like Purdue and Indiana. However, following a recent visit to Notre Dame to explore the program, Hall has hinted at a potential shift in the recruitment landscape.
Purdue Dame football captures the attention of a top wide receiver prospect through effective peer recruiting efforts
As per insights from On3 recruiting analysts, Hall is currently leaning towards Purdue with a 28 percent likelihood of choosing them. Indiana closely follows with a 19.1 percent chance of securing the commitment of the 4-star wide receiver.
The Golden Domers hold the third spot with a 16 percent chance of enticing the talented prospect from Fishers, Indiana. It’s unusual to see Notre Dame trailing both of its in-state competitors in recruiting battles. Purdue and Indiana have intensified their focus on Hall, contributing to their stronger positions in his decision-making process.
Nevertheless, Hall’s recent visit to Notre Dame may have shifted the dynamics. What prompted this potential change?
“Definitely going on the field and throwing with Deuce [Knight],” shared Hall regarding Notre Dame’s committed quarterback, who has been present on campus. “That guy can definitely sling it… Getting the opportunity to throw with him has broadened my perspective on possibilities. It was a valuable experience.”
Notre Dame’s recruitment efforts for wide receivers in the 2025 class are widespread. However, failing to secure JonAnthony Hall’s commitment would be viewed as a significant setback for the team.
