On Wednesday night, Zephyrhills (Fla.) High five-star plus cornerback DJ Pickett declared his commitment to LSU and head coach Brian Kelly.
Pickett rejected his other two candidates, Oregon and Miami, in favor of the Tigers.

Pickett enhances the excellent LSU class
In the 2025 recruiting class, 6-foot-4, 180-pound Pickett commits to the Tigers as commit number 17. Pickett is ranked as the No. 2 cornerback and No. 6 prospect overall in the country by On3 Industry. He is ranked No. 1 and No. 3, respectively, on On3.
Before Pickett made his commitment, On3 had LSU’s class ranked No. 5 in the country. He joins top-ranked running back Harlem Berry and QB prospect Bryce Underwood as the jewels in the country.
Pickett made three trips to Baton Rouge: he went there for a game in the fall of last year, another trip in the spring, and his formal visit on the weekend of May 31. Corey Raymond took the lead in bringing Pickett on board.

In his junior year, Pickett gained 1,033 yards and 15 touchdowns on 52 receptions. With 31 tackles, he also had one interception.
