scary injuries in final minutes of Giants-Cowboys game

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants both faced serious injuries during Thursday Night Football.

Late in the fourth quarter of their NFC East matchup, two standout players were injured in what appeared to be significant incidents. Cowboys’ star pass rusher Micah Parsons suffered an apparent left ankle injury just before the Giants’ promising rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers was quickly diagnosed with a concussion.

In a post-game interview, Giants pass rusher Brian Burns, formerly of the Carolina Panthers, asked Nabers if he was alright, to which Nabers simply replied “no” while shaking his head.

Before experiencing the concussion, Nabers was having a remarkable start to his rookie season. The former LSU standout recorded 12 receptions for 115 yards in the Giants’ 20-15 divisional defeat. Upon returning home early Friday morning, the standout player shared the following on Instagram (via ESPN’s Adam Schefter).

Meanwhile, when the Cowboys returned to Dallas early this morning, Parsons was spotted carefully exiting the team’s plane.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared an update on Parsons’ condition after Thursday night’s game. Rapoport indicated that Parsons seems to have sustained a high-ankle sprain, which may sideline the former Penn State standout until after the Cowboys’ bye week in Week 7, following upcoming games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions over the next two weeks.

Dallas will have to manage without Parsons in Week 5 as the Cowboys head to Pittsburgh for a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Steelers on October 6 at 8:20 PM EDT / 5:20 PM PDT, airing on NBC.
