Proposed Dolphins Trade Sends 1st-Round Pick to 49ers for Haul

The proposed trade would see the Dolphins receive the No. 31 pick, a fifth-round pick, a seventh-round pick, and a third-round pick in 2025. The rationale behind this trade is to enable the 49ers to select a wide receiver, providing a weapon for quarterback Brock Purdy.Kyle Posey, the author of the article, believes that the Dolphins’ general manager, Mike McDaniel, would be open to this trade, given that the Dolphins’ first and second-round picks are separated by a large gap.Posey writes, “Mike McDaniel has a pick in the first and second rounds, but after picking No. 55, he won’t pick again until No. 158. Dolphins’ Top Draft Needs
The Miami Dolphins have several areas to address in the upcoming draft, including both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. However, according to Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post, their most pressing need is an offensive lineman.
In a recent column, Habib discussed the Dolphins’ top five draft needs, highlighting the need for a quality offensive lineman.
With guard Rob Hunt leaving the team and left tackle Terron Armstead experiencing injury issues, the Dolphins’ offensive line could benefit from an upgrade.
Habib suggested that if a talented offensive lineman who can play guard or left tackle is available at No. 21, such as Alabama’s JC Latham or Washington’s Troy Fautanu, the Dolphins should consider selecting them. Alternatively, if Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson is available at No. 21, the Dolphins could draft him and move Liam Eichenberg to the offensive line.
Although the Dolphins have added Aaron Brewer and re-signed Robert Jones and Kendall Lamm, they used 12 different combinations on the offensive line last season. Drafting a lineman could provide the Dolphins with much-needed stability in the unit.
Dolphins’ General Manager Expresses Satisfaction with the Player Available at No. 21
Miami Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier has expressed his approval of the player available at the No. 21 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. According to a report by Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post, Grier is confident that the Dolphins will be able to find a quality offensive lineman to address their biggest need.
“Grier has said he likes who’s available at No. 21,” Habib wrote in an April 19 column. “If a quality lineman who can play guard or left tackle is there at No. 21, a player such as Alabama offensive lineman JC Latham or Washington’s Troy Fautanu, the Dolphins should take him.”
Grier’s positive outlook on the player available at No. 21 suggests that the Dolphins are in a strong position to address their biggest need in the draft. With the departure of guard Rob Hunt and injury concerns surrounding left tackle Terron Armstead, the Dolphins’ offensive line could benefit from an upgrade.
Habib also suggested that if Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson is available at No. 21, the Dolphins could draft him and move Liam Eichenberg to the offensive line.
