The Philadelphia Eagles will be without quarterback Jalen Hurts for their matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Hurts, a former standout at Alabama, exited Philadelphia’s 36-33 loss to the Washington Commanders in the second quarter to undergo concussion evaluation and did not return. He has not practiced this week, and on Friday, the Eagles officially ruled him out for the NFC East clash against Dallas.

Including playoff games, Hurts has started 36 consecutive games for Philadelphia. Since becoming the team’s starting quarterback at the beginning of the 2021 season, the Eagles have achieved a 45-17 record in games he has started, compared to a 1-3 record in games without him.

Kenny Pickett stepped in for Hurts against Washington, completing 14 of 24 passes for 143 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, along with three carries for 13 yards, marking the end of the Eagles’ 10-game winning streak.

A first-round draft pick in 2022, Pickett had started 24 games over the last two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before the Eagles acquired him in March. He sustained a rib injury during the game against the Commanders and was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Friday, but was a full participant on Thursday.

With a record of 12-3, the Eagles have already secured a spot in the NFC playoffs. They face the Cowboys at noon CST on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, before wrapping up the regular season with a home game against the New York Giants on January 5.
